Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Ford Escape AWD. The transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago and operates fine: shifts smoothly and consistently, RPM's seem ok at all speeds and in all gears.

Almost all whirring sounds are related to axle bearings, front or rear they will always sounds like that when they start too fail. So chances are high the left front hub assembly has bad bearings, and usually the other side will follow shortly after.
