Today went to drive my 1997 Chevy Tahoe but won't go while in drive but in reverse it moves while in drive it just revs up and that's all

It could be stuck shift solenoids, these are quite common failures, a transmission shop can tell you for sure, my old 96 Tahoe did the the same thing, replaced the solenoids, new filter and fluid and added some LubeGuard for GM trannies, no more troubles with the trans. Even after I sold it the guy put over 300K on the rig before he had to have the tranny rebuilt, then he said it was an easy rebuild.
