Timing belts replaced and car does not start on Hyundai Accent 2007
On the 2007 Hyundai Accent timing belt broke or about 30 teeth on the belt came off, I was going about 40 speed. When this happened I turned the car on I can only hear a spinning sound. I replaced the timing belt set the timing. It does not start and the spinning sounds I first heard, I still hear when I try to start the car. Could it be that the valve damaged the piston.
Do a compression test. If all cylinders test zero the valves are damaged. Time for a new engine or a new car if that's the case. HTH. -Jim
