Asked by Nov 06, 2018 at 04:28 PM about the 2007 Lexus ES 350 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2007 Lexus ES 350 with severely cracked dash that Lexus will not honor
fixing. Do you know how much a Lexus dealership would charge me to replace.
The car is in great shape!  THX!

About 3 1/2 years ago I bought a used, one owner, 2007 Lexus ES 350 from a Lexus dealer. Shortly after I took it home I noticed the dashboard was sticky. Called the salesman, he told me to bring the car in. I did. The dealer dyed the dash the original (same) color. It looked good, it felt good. But I had a feeling it was just a temporary fix. Surprise!...About 3 months later the salesman called me to tell me that Toyota agreed to replace the dashboards on several Toyota models and some Lexus models (2007 ES350) as well. Free, no charge. It was not a formal recall. Dealers were notified, not vehicle owners. It was considered a "technical bulletin", or something like that. The salesman told me to call the service department. I did. They asked for information about my car (year make model) and VIN. They said they would call me when the color matched dashboard for my car came into stock. Few weeks later service called me, bring the care in. I did. I waited a few hours and drove home with a brand new dashboard, and it didn't cost me a dime. AND...they filled my tank up with gas. Call your local Lexus dealer!! Tell the dealer you want a new dashboard!!......Good luck!
