2007 Lincoln MKX Passenger airbag
i just got a 2007 lincoln mkx and the airbag
light on my dash is on. I also noticed when
sitting in the passenger seat the pass
airbag light stayed on (airbag off) so im
guessing its the sensor. I was wondering if
anyone knew a way to bypass the sensor
and keep the bag on at all times. I read all
through the manual with no answers.
Don't by-pass any sensors regarding air-bags. The need to be fixed to do what they were designed to do. If you bought from a dealer, take it back and demand, firm and polite, it be fixed, they sold you a car with a safety defect.
It's illegal, under Federal Law to disconnect an airbag system. Or to knowingly sell a vehicle with inoperable airbags. Because faulty airbag systems can cause serious injury or death there's very strict rules about this. That's why when when the computer detects a problem with the system it is disabled. The airbags on your Lincoln will NOT deploy. Even in a collision. Do exactly what Fordnut said. HTH. -Jim
