Replace or repair a 2007 Saturn Aura w/127K

Asked by Kevin Jul 22, 2015 at 07:29 PM about the 2007 Saturn Aura XE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2007 Saturn Aura XE has 127,000 miles. Lately, the radio display has been going hinky, not displaying, flashing like a cheap motel sign, or not having good reception. It also sounds like the struts or ball joints are about to go when hitting potholes or bumps. I had to replace the driver's seat already. And the info display doesn't respond half the time to the steering wheel controls.
Question: I found a 2014 Subaru Legacy Premium w/64K for 16K. Consider or run like hell the other way? I also found a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid w/27K for the same money. Consider or run like hell? What about a C-Max? At 6'3", 240#, a micro car (aka EPA compact or smaller) ain't gonna cut it.
I drive about 70 miles a day to/from work, about 70/30 twisty state two lane va expressway and the Aura is lucky to get 25MPg. Funny thing, I regularly get 26+ on the expressway with the cruise at 75-80.
Comments? Suggestions.
