my jeep commander over heated and will not start, will it start back after it cools or could it be a cracked head?
You or anybody else won't know if it starts later. The head could be cracked. The head gasket could be bad. There could be nothing wrong.
Most newer vehicles have a safety feature that will shut down the engine if it gets severely overheated. So it probably witll start again in a few hours, once the engine cools. My question is why did it overheat? Yes a cracked head will cause that. The engine will still run but you'll lose coolant too. HTH. -Jim
