How to I take the old push button knob off?  I can find the parts anywhere.  
Can anyone suggest a place to get parts?

Salvage yard or eBay. Also your local Buick dealer parts counter. Doesn't look factory according to this link..http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

If it's like my '00 Grand Prix they'll be a little metal horseshoe type clip on the front of the shifter. Pry it out with a small flat blade screwdriver and pull the handle straight up and off. HTH. -Jim

If it is not like Jim says look for a set screw.
