Won’t start

My car was running good all day. I went to the
store and when I was done I tried to start it and
nothing. No clicking no nothing. Assumed maybe
my battery died and tried to jump it but nothing.
I’m trying to get some advice before buying any
part. No clicking but there was a moment of
chugging before absolutely nothing. It has to be
either the alternator or the starter. Any ideas?
