security light stays on, but car starts and runs fine.2000 park avenue. how do i reset the light to go off. thanks
If you're using a new or different ignition key try this. Turn the ignition to the run position but don't start the engine. Leave it there for 10 minutes or until the security light goes off, whichever comes first. Then switch off the ignition. Then immediately start the engine. This should reset the security system. I tried Js08016's answer and it worked great on my 2000 Buick LeSabre.....turned ignition to run without starting, waited for security light to go out, switched to off position and then immediately started the engine.....security light came on when i started and then after a few seconds, it went off. Thanks
