car starts and runs fine,but security light will not go off.

If you're using a new or different ignition key try this. Turn the ignition to the run position but don't start the engine. Leave it there for 10 minutes or until the security light goes off, whichever comes first. Then switch off the ignition. Then immediately start the engine. This should reset the security system. On this car w passkey 3, you unfortunately need to go to GM dealer. They heed to use specialized scan tool to reset. Receiver on car might be bad. 300.00 part
