Asked by May 01, 2016 at 06:19 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet Astro LT Passenger Van Extended

Question type: General

When I apply the brakes my vehicle shudders the
abs light stays on ,and now I get a popping noise
when I apply the brakes

1 Answer

Since the ABS light is on, it very well might be the ABS kicking in when it shouldn't or your brake rotors/pads are old. Might be a wheels sensor, or more. A safety issue for sure. You will need to have a mechanic scan the car for the codes, (ABS light on means there is a code stored) and will be able to tell what the problem is and repair.
