Where can I locate ANY IMFORMATION as to what all the button's and dash-lights mean?

I bought a 1998 Volvo v70, Estate Wagon.  
I do not know what the buttons between the gear-shift and the emergency brake are for?
The lights on the dash-board -- What do they operate?  
What does it mean when they come-on or flash?
How do I effectively "program the radio"?  The previous owner wrote the code ON the radio.  
Just need to know what is where and what it does.And when to do it may be nice too
