2006 S 60 Volvo recently flashed a messgae "Reduced Engine Performance" and then shut down. What is the cause of the message?
Message light detailed "Reduced Engine Performance" then sut down. What is the cause of this message?
read the trouble codes, could be something as simple as an o2 sensor-
potato in the tailpipe...Lol~
Limp mode. A fault has been detected in the transmission and it goes in to reduced power to prevent further damage but get you off the road, home, a safe place.....maybe, but it will not shut down entirely..so I may be off base here, just a guess
Appreciate the answers. There wasn't a potato in the tailpipe. The problem was a clogged PCV system. Parts repalced with labor $510.
I am in the wrong business. A PCV system is such a simple, parts inexpensive, accessible, wow that seems steep, even if say $150 alone was for diagnosis, but if it got your car running and you are happy, well so be it. The valve is where the 10 bucks came from.
