my car heats up while driving then shuts off but starts back imediately what could it be?

I will be driving my car with no trouble then it just cuts off while im driving but i can start it right back with no problem im worried about driving it i love my car i dont know what this could be and neither does my mechanic-HELP!!!!!

Does it turn off as if you turned the key off, or does it stumble/surge and then die?
