well good place to start is take it to a proper service provider. so first step. if it is in fact a faulty computer unit a vw/audi Specialist shop will be able to find diagnose and fix a computer related issue unless it is damaged and infact does need replacement. second step would be take it to mr transmission who can tell you for sure if it is the transmission that is the issue. If you live near any largish city i guarentte there will be a number of vw speiclist shops in your area and they have the proper software to properly diagnose your audi's computer related issues.
