Door ajar light stays on
I have a Mazda Tribute I 06, and since I
bought it it shows that one of the doors is
open. I tried opening all the door while the
car is on but it doesn't make any
difference. The alarm won't activate when I
use the remote control. It lock but I know
the alarm its not on because when the
sensor is working right it make a different
sound when I look it. I've run the computer
but it doesn't detect the issue.
Anyone knows how to fix this problem. I
would appreciate it a lot.
By the way I know its not the driver door
because if I open it while driving it will
sound indicating that it is open.
It's most likely a bad ummm can't think of the right word but check the door jambs should be a little plastic "button" sticking out. One of those must be bad. Could try having a buddy ride with you and have them open the doors and see which one it doesn't ding to and replace the bad door switch.
Spray your door latches with some WD-40, the door ajar switch is located in them. They get dirty over time. If that doesn't help, one of the switches is faulty and needs to be replaced. Also check the rear hatch and lift glass.
I've opened all doors but only the driver side makes the ding noise. And I will try the wd- 40 to see if that helps.
I have a 2005 tribute with the same problem no matter what door/hatch/window, the ajar light stays on and that wonderful little alarm rings. Now if the battery stays connected, the battery is drained.
