I have a 2004 RX8, need to know if I should fix or sell
My 2004 RX8 needs a new motor, should I sell it as is or fix it and sell it.... or keep it and
put in a new motor? I love the car but am really not sure what I want to do.
If you love it, put a new motor in, and get many more years of enjoyment. The cars looks in great shape otherwise.
A remanufactured engine isn't that pricey and comes with a warranty. It'll take some work and money but you'll be happy to have your car back.
Thanks !! Where can I find a new motor? I'm keeping the car!! :-)
Unless you can find someone that specializes in Wankel engines, the Dealer isn't a bad choice. Shop around if you can.
I talked to a dealer about my car and he said that it could be what he referred to as a 'wash down' ? Said that if someone put the sparke plugs in wrong it would act like it is.. and I may not need a new motor. He suggested I get a camera light and look at the apex seals to see if they look good... how do I look at them? I do not know where they are... The charge to fix that he said would be about $160.00 vs. a starting price of $5000.00 for them to rebuild or replace the motor..
A Wankle engines always need apex seals. A good fresh engine $5000
