while driving on the interstate my 2001 Mazda miata just died. engine light came on and it would not restart
what could be causing this issue.. the gas tank was very low before this
happened.. filled the tank went about 60 miles and it stalled could this be
some of the problem????
Low gas would not cause this........You need to see if you know someone who owns an OBDII code reader, cause the problem could be many, But it sounds like more of an electrical problem....
I have a code reader but the engine wont start to get a scan on it
It should scan without the engine running, just hookup the scanner and turn the key to on then follow the menu on the scanner. Remember you should never run with less than 1/4 tank of fuel as the fuel pump uses the fuel as a coolant, so when you have less than 1/4 tank the fuel pump gets exposed and starts to run hotter than normal thus shorting it's life.
