what does the code p0402 exhaust gas recirculation flow excessive mean

it means there is more than the desired amount of exhaust gas being recirculated. perhaps the valve is partially stuck open causing the issue. sometimes the springs get weak and the vacuum going to it will hold it open and cause the code also.
