i have a 98 Cavalier lost power on freeway we stopped & car over-heated. Towed car home & changed water pump. Now the car turns over, wont start its got fuel & spark. Tried starting fluid, nothing.

If it got too hot you could have lost the tension in the piston rings and blued the block, run a compression test on the engine, write them down and then add just a little oil to each cylinder and do it again and see how much higher the compression is with the oil, if it rises a lot then chances are high that there is ring and cylinder damage.
