Can I change the ignition switch on 98 cavelier without programming the computer to it?

I bought the car and it didnt come with the original key. I can get the key I have to work but it takes a few tries. Is there any way to replace the tumbler inside the lock so to not have to reprogram the anti-theft lock? I dont have the means to do any computer work like that. Thanks for any help. Ive asked everyone.

Yes, the lock cylinder transfers to the new ignition switch. If you need a lock cylinder coded to fit the original key, visit your local locksmith with the old key and new lock cylinder. HTH. -Jim
