I have a 94 Mazda mX 3 with a 1.8 v6. Well when I got it there was no oil cap and just a sock over it. my friends washed the engine down and it ran for a little but now no spark.

have checked fuses replace cap and rotor. I
think it's the distributor. Is there a way I can
check myself I donot have any money.
What other cars have parts that will fit and
work on my 94 mx3?

Check the spark plugs to see if there is water in the socket where it plugs in. Next buy a spark plug tester for $8, then check to see if your getting spark to the spark plugs or the distributor. Test both before and after spark plug. If the distributor and spark plug has spark then adjust the distributor.

Check the coil pack, may have damage due to water.
