What do manual valve bodies do? and are they worth buying for an automatic?

Manual valve bodie allows you to select the gear in a transmission it allows for more rpms due to overall shift control i would not recommend this for a street car cause of the constant shifting up and down where as an automatic valve body changes gears for you by rpms by tcm or transmission control module they are good in high preformance applications
