What could it be

It's almost a 85% guarantee that it's either cap/rotor/distributor/timing issue or something under the intake plenum fpr/poppets/nut kit/spider. Another possibility with a 2% likelihood is the power cable leading to the distribution block on the firewall which you can locate by following the wire leading from your light bulb under your hood if you have 1 and just run a thick speaker wire such as 8 or 10 gauge from the positive on the battery to that block on the firewall and try starting it as the original wire gets pinched between the frame and engine and grounds/burns itself out. Also safety neutral switch going bad can cause this but usually also effects engaging 4hi and generally wouldn't start even with priming (bad idea on these engines as gas and ether ruins seals, spider hoses, nut kit and can cause a dangerous and damaging combustion which could destroy the intake, valves, crankshaft, pistons, connection rods etc) I'm willing to bet unless you got a really rich smell, white smoke or gas coming down your exhaust pipe it will end up being cap and rotor or a stuck relay due to carbon buildup in the relay prongs. (Most of the time you can fix these by giving them a tap with a screwdriver if they are stuck on which breaks loose the carbon that's fusing the contact plates together which then breaks the circuit. Yours will not be stuck on so a better method of testing it out is to swap it out with an identical relay under your hood and if it works change out the bad relay if no change was made relay was good and that's not your problem.) Also should go without saying the absolute first thing you should do is check your fuse inside the cab before going out and swapping relays, taking out the fuel filter located by drivers door making sure the flow is going the right direction and that it flows freely without much pressure. If you have to blow on it hard to get the gas to flow out of the filter replace filter (fuel filters are a good thing to change but if you don't run your tank lower than 1/8 a tank your fuel filter will generally last as long as your pump). If the fuel pump was replaced with a regular pump rather than a high pressure pump it may not be able to give it the pressure needed to start or it's burned out. I could write 5 pages of what your problem could be on the 0 information you have provided for diagnosis. You got to be more thoroughly explain what's wrong, what you have tried, any recent work done to it or new parts and how long ago they were installed. You have basically asked us to find life boat in the middle of the ocean here.
