Volkswagen passat timing chain
I am wanting to buys a 2006 Volkswagen passat
but the people that have it says it needs a timing
chain I want to to know a couple if things ! Dose it
mess up then fine if it is broke and if not can it be
fixed? The car only has 123k miles on it ! And
would it be worth m t time and could it be fixed ?
How does the owner know it's a timing chain? They might be guessing and the problem might be something else. Maybe cheaper or more expensive to fix. My recommendation if you like the car, is to get the car to a local mechanic of your choice and have them inspect the car, that way you know exactly what is wrong and negotiate a proper price for the car. A small amount of money it will cost you over the long term. If the owner balks at the idea, walk away.
Before you buy it.check out how much a used engine because if that belt broke while the engine was running.1)valves are bent2)heads possably cracked3)i valve may have punctured a piston.the only way to see this is to put another tbelt.THIS IS AN INTERFERENCE ENGINE.
