where do I check the transmission fluid

I need to check the transmission fluid but where do I check it?

The only way to check transmission fluid levels is to have a mechanic put it on a hoist. there is no dip sticks the Audi trany is a completely sealed unit. the only option at home is to remove the filler plug from the side of the transmission.
