Has anyone ever used Head Gasket sealer that you pour in radiator?
I fixed the hose on my car. The mechanic told me that my head gasket was leaking. I
was getting oil in water and he said it was too much pressure. My husband bought the
head gasket liquid. I was just curious if anyone had any experience with it.
It's dubbed by techs, as "mechanic in a can". It may cost you quite a bit of money, if it doesn't hold. I've read positive and negative posts on head gasket sealers. Personally, If it was my car, I would replace the gasket if I intended on keeping the car longer. This would be for "peace of mind" driving it down the road.
That stuff never holds for long, and you wind up plugging up other things you don't want plugged ie heater core, radiator, smaller passages in the engine, I would say don't use the stuff, repair it properly or sell it as is.
I tried using that on a 1981 diesel Rabbit to plug a head gasket leak. The only thing that got plugged was the lower quarter of the radiator. That stuff is pretty much useless to me.
