2002 VW Beetle overheating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After replacing the radiator, thermostat, water
pump and cooling sensor my 2002 VW Beetle 2.0
engine (not turbo) continues to overheat to boiling!
What have I missed!??

Was it overheating before? Air in the system? Perform a cylinder pressure test?

It rode good for 3 mths after purchase then began to overheat. What's a cylinder pressure test?

What Tom is getting at is you may have a blown head gasket. If you do a compression test on the cylinders, and there are 1 or 2 low cylinders in compression, this would be an indication of a blown head gasket.
