i have a 2000 vw beetle that wont start at times
i have a 2000 VW beetle and lately im having a issue with it not starting .it would crank
but not turn over sounds like its not getting fuel but after 30 to 45 minutes it would fire
right up so this got me thinking that it was something other than the fuel pump ..i was
told that it could be a problem with the Imobilzer chip in the key or the alarm system
are they one in the same? can anyone help me out with this issue,,,, can i remove the
chip from the key? or do i turn alarm off
you must follow the instructions in your owner's manual to figure out this "security immobilizer" feature...and how to change it...a lot of times pressing more than one button at a time reprograms things~ depends on the car~
thanks judge_roy i will give both a shot
I have a 2000 Beetle with the exact same problem. Did you end up finding a fix for it?
the fuel pump relay...I thought...but no news is good news...no?~
I had them run a diagnostic on the beetle with the check engine light on and it came back with the trouble code of p0322 witch is the crank postion sensor very easy to do it yourself. You can buy the part cheaper online
Thanks Freddie, I can pick this part up very cheaply so well worth a try.
Im having that same issue 2001 beetle ignition turns but it will not catch to start. Was wondering if I should just order the crank position sensory? Would someone PLEASE help me?
I have a 2000 vw beetle 2.0 and it tries to start but it wouldnt. I changed my crank sensor and it started up 2 times. When i parked it out and i came back out 30 minutes later it wouldnt start. I sprayed starter fluid in it and it started up but as it was trying to start it back fired. What do that mean? Could it be my spark plugs and wires
My vw was runing in hwy and just turn off I wont start I took bak site off turn key but can't hear pump any help thanks
