Transmission

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do I put transmission fluid in a 2006
Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 L automatic transmission. I
hope this is the problem. When I take off from a
stop it feels like it's struggling, it's skipping until I
get going. Like it can't find a gear. Please advise.
Thanks

2005 and 2006 were trouble transmissions for VW. try to put in Mobil1 synthetic transmission fluid. It Worked for me before. car has to be lifted. underneath, you need to drain the old fluid from the bottom valve by the trans. pan, and the pump it in from the top valve above the pan. its a skilled job that maybe you can get it done by a shop that has a special pump for transmissions. car has to be running on low gear and you fill up until it comes out from the valve you are pumping in. Usually it takes 5-6 quarts. do not change the filter, it may make things worse.
