I have a 2003 VW Jetta that runs fine except sometimes it will not shift from 1st into 2nd. It's an automatic. I've taken it to the dealer and a mechanic. Dealer said new transmission $5000. The mechanic put a cleaner in the fluid but nothing works. A code came up for TCM however, they said it was not that. It runs great when it runs but you never know when it will do it. Any ideas? Mileage 155,00
No answer yet. Sounds like a new tranny necessary unfortunately.....I do not have to go into details, to say the tranny is too old. Get a used one from an Auto - Salvage that is below 500$. Have a mechanic swap-it. Car is too old. Job should be about 2000$, if the way I described above
Transmission. TCM code is (transmission control module) but not the problem! You should see how VAG.. (Volkswagen auto group?) and Audi and MB are such a HUGH ripoff, when Dealers handle there customers. NOT POLITICALLY Correct TO SAY THERE GUILTY! THEY KNOW AND... SO SHAMELESS . ETHICALLY, I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH MORE OF THERE GARBAGE I CAN SERVICE.
