can i put a used pedal in my jetta

I have a 01 1.8L turbo jetta and my gas pedal has went out on it and i have a
pedal to replace when i replace it do i have to take it to a dealership and have
it reprogrammed  oh should it be ok

If its the same part number it should be plug and play, you may need to do a throttle adaptation. Ross-Tech Wiki (Google Search) should have a procedure without using VAGCOM or VCDS. Good Luck.
