2001 vw jetta vr6 the battery cables have to be unhooked for 10 minutes before you can reconnecgt them and start it...why
you have to unplug the battery cables after you stop the car for 10 minutes before you can hook them back on and start it?
Actuly its 15 minutes. And doing this can cause all the cars saved data to erase and things will not work like they used to. The idea behind unplugging the battery is to reboot the computer if you are experiencing an issue that cannot be solved by using a obd2 tool to erase the saved computer data back to to scratch. I would suggest a obd2 tool wipe instead since the throttle body needs to be adapted after a disconnect of the battery.
