1999 suburban wont go outa 4wd
I got a 1999 suburban put a new (used) tranny and a transfer case put a new motor on the
transfer case. The problem is when it will go in to 4 high when you start up the truck u can
change it to auto 4wd or 4 low if you try to change it to 2 hi it will go to 4low and wont
come out of it unless you disconnect the battery . what is wrong can any 1 help got over
1800 $$ trying to get this right thanks
The front axle engagement system might be stuck in 4WD mode. If Im not mistaken, its a vacuum driven system and the vacuum hoses frequently crack of fall off the connections. Check all the hoses and connections in the front axle and youll probably find the issue there. There may also be a vacuum diaphragm under the battery which pulls a lever to engage the front axle. Disconnect it and make sure it moves freely. If that is the issue, you can replace those parts or there is a manual front axle actuator cable you can buy to avoid dealing with this again.
i tryed a new actuator and still same result
UPDATE: took it to a transmission shop and they gave me the following codes, C0310 Motor A/B Circuit open C0323 Transfer Case lock circuit low C0327 Encoder Circuit Extensive noise coming out of the transfer case will need another transfer case. so i bought another case today and still the same problem will not go in to 2 High when you start the truck it goes to 4 high if you try to put it in 2 H it will go to 4 low and you got to undo the battery to get it to reset back in to 4 high can some 1 please help me i got over 2 grand in this
