I have a 1999 jetta 2.0 and I took the battery out for a few hours put it back in and now it won't start the battery is not dead. It even started a Nissan altima just to make sure. What could it be?
Hello how are you, my advice is to get a new battery keep in mind japanese cars take less power to start than german cars, also check the power box on top of the battery to make sure all wires are pluged in and theres no burned fuses on that box,,,if not check the starter on it might be bad
Try putting it in neutral instead of Park and see if it will start. Foot on Brake. Then there is a possibility the igniition switch, or key is not sending the correct program to "brain" or ICM. Then starter soloneid, cable to starter, ground.
