My 1997 Jetta did not come with an owners manual and I am unsure of how much to fill the funky coolant ball as there are no fill markings on it. The light was recently flashing and I saw the ball was near empty. ANYONE?????
Hello, Luckily, thanks to places like eBay, manuals are now more easily and less expensively replaceable. Here is a link to get you started: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=1997+jetta+manual&category0=&submitSearch=Search Best of luck! I got a spare OWNERS '02 manual which is more complete. it's for a diesel but I also got a regular one & there doesn't seem to be obvious firstname.lastname@example.org
The manual is just going to tell you the total cooling system capacity. Are you sure there are NO markings at all? I believe that mine are embossed, but with no fill or outline. Look very carefully with a flashlight.
about a centimetre above half the ball is where it should be...thats where i have it and i havent had my coolant light on...seems to work
