95 vw jetta 210k, 2,0 Ran great until now, head gasket needs to be replaced. Is it a good idea fro and old car like that?
Hello! My 95 Jetta needs a new headgasket. The car had been running great until now. Had it for
10 years and still like it, It has a character and can't afford a new car at the moment. Is it a good
idea to replace the headgasket on an old car like that. I know the engine is pretty good on these
cars and should deal with good compressions after it's done alright. I have invested about 1000
bucks into it, has new brakes, 4 year old clutch and I don't drive much, battery... Please let me
know what you think. Thank you!
It's a 21 year old car so if you really love the car then fix it right, a head gasket on these is not that big a deal as long as it is done right and the block hasn't suffered any deck damage. I know how you can feel for that special car, I would still have that special car if It hadn't been wrecked by uninsured driver. So I say go for it and enjoy it while you can.
