What happens when you try to start it with the key?

it just keeps turning over

Might be the ignition switch. Usually when the key is turned to "start" full battery voltage is applied to the coil(s). Then when you release the key to the "run" position voltage is applied through a resistor to the ignition system. Try putting the key in the "run"position and use a remote starter button switch that you hook up at the starter. If it starts normally then your ignition switch is probably bad. Hth. -Jim

do you no what wires it is

Unfortunately not off the top of my head. Even though the circuits are basically the same, on different cars the color coding is different from vehicle to vehicle. The best thing would be to try to get a wiring diagram for your car. Maybe a dealet or local shop could get it from Mitchell On Demand. They have a website. HTH. - Jim

i cant just run a power wire from the starter to the battery

what do i type in yahoo to get wiring diagram

You actually have a hot wire going from the battery to the starter. The positive (+) battery cable. The ignition switch also sends power to the starter solenoid to engage & spin the starter. The remote starter button does the same thing. Try googling "wiring diagram '95 volkseagan jetta". HTH. -Jim
