I'm buying a 1999 Chevy suburban. I'm wanting to lift it or is it better to add 4×4 to it

Not nessarsarily better, and so expensive for all the 4X4 parts to switch it over. Guys who do this mod use a wrecked 4X4 doner truck for springs & mounts, differentials, drive shafts, transfer case, & shifters. Better to lift your 2wd. You have many options spacers, taller coil springs (front) multi leaf re- arched leaf springs (rear), coil over shocks, or air bags.
