location for fuelpump on 1999 vw cabrio

want to know if have to take fuel tank out to get to fuelpump?

I'm not sure on that model. The pump is in the tank. Some cars need to drop the tank. Some cars have an opening under the rear seat.

i have a 98 cabrio and mine is in the trunk. lift up the carpet there will be a round metal lid take the screws out and its right there! i had hell time trying to find this! but pretty simple and pretty easy and there is no fuel shut off switch. I thought i needed a new fuel pump just ended up to be the fuse! 20 fuse that a shop charged me 80 bucks to install!!! unbelievable
