Car only accelerate in reverse gear but not "D", "2", or "1".

Hmm, most VW owners complain of the opposite. Not sure what's going on. Maybe a trip to a trans expert.

Thanks, Tom. The strange thing is code scanner displays no fault code. Could it be a bad linkage from the gear box to the transmission?

Fault codes are more specific to emmission related sensors on the engine. Transmission codes, if any will need a special code scanner that the garages use. This isn't anything you can diagnose and fix on your own, and you will need an expert to diagnose the problem and offer a solution/repair. But I will say this, in my experience, most times when you lose gears, it is internal transmission damage, and that means a rebuild or replacement. $$$$. I hope I'm wrong. Good Luck!
