I am not familiar with BMW but, if you still have the owner's manual you may find the location of your fuse panels there. You may also look at the back of the lighter plug to make sure the connections did not come loose.

This happened to me on my 3 Series. Certain chargers don't work well in the lighter socket, you will be blowing fuses. Open your glove box, and move the tabs to open/release the fuse panel on the back side, the fuses are located there and a diagram. I think the fuse is #5, 15amp. Check to see if it's blown.

I sure hate responding that it's the blown fuse and cant you tell through an observation of all the fuses as to which is the blown one ? Do you need to know how to get to the fuse area ?

lokk behind the glove box at fuses, on nthe bottom row of fuses, it is the first fuse ............. It is blue in color and it is 15 AMP.check the manual for access to open area behind glove box.
