check engine light on

I recently had my car inspected and now the check engine light is on. Any ideas
as to why this would happen and how to get it to go off?

First have someone read the trouble codes that turned the light on. Your mechanic can do it or most auto parts stores can. The codes will tell you what is wrong. Post them here and we will try to help.
