Rim size

Asked by Sep 16, 2019 at 01:22 AM about the 1987 Toyota Celica GT Coupe

Question type: General

My Celica has 13 inch 4 x100 rims. Will
14 inch rims with snow tires fit for winter
driving? If so what is the recommended tire
size?  Thanks Dan

Your car originally came with 185/70SR13 tires. I'd try to stay with 13" rims and use a snow/winter tire the same size or smaller; maybe a 175/70SR13. If you have to use a 14" rim, install tires that closely match the diameter of the original tires;

I would switch up to 14" wheels for summer and winter driving. I think you will like the difference. Use an online tire size calculator to pick the correct size tires. You will also have a better selection of tires to pick from.
