Do the dash lights/instrument cluster lights still work?

Yes thay work

check for a bad ground connection at the bulb housing and check that the tail light filament (there's two; one brake one tail light) in the bulbs isn't burned out----fast check is to just replace the bulbs Good Luck HTH
