The top of the motor has to come off plus also make sure ur heads are not warped

I'm just buying the car I don't know much about engine work so I was gonna let someone else do the work I just need to know if its gonna be worth buying I'm getting the car for 650$ but I need to know what I need to look at when io get the car b4 I give the guy the money

How hot the engine got before it blew the head gasket a warped head can be pricy

How can I tell that when I go to look at it cause I'm pretty sure they won't tell me how hit he really had it b4 it blew the gasket. He had it posted as passenger side head gasket when I first seen it online

The head has to be pulled off and it's a risk if u wanna take it on how hott it got

Look closely at the heads for small crakcks or fractures

If u can get the car for about 400 to 450 it'd be worth it but 650 for it with a blown head gasket is a bit much in my opinion

Larry that engine work is all labor cost if your not doing it yourself and can get expensive. Your talking spending over $1000 in most cases. and like Madcars suggest you might have some head or engine block machining or replacement depending on what you find when you take it apart. Your best bet is to buy the car and maybe put in another used engine that you know runs.
