Why? Avg. 20.8mpg per EPA in '73. It's a 40 year old car, you aren't driving it for the MPG. Enjoy the classic!

you get pretty some decent milage out of it if you baby it but id doesnt go through gas like a turbo car does. i cant speak for the 73 but i do have a 77 liftback. it had a 20r and 5spd and would take 5.0L mustangs off the line and they wouldnt be able to pull more then half their doors length away from me. now its getting a 1uz v8 because im not concerned about the fuel and just want more power
