1999 Chevy Blazer

Asked by Jun 21, 2016 at 11:50 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Blazer Trailblazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The first day I got my 1999Chevy Blazer,
checking out the buttons, I hit a button on
the driver's door armrest that put the whole
car into lock-down. Problem was, it wouldn't
UNlock any of the doors. OK, not a huge
deal, I just unlocked the 4 door's manually.
But, and it is a BIG but, the hatch door in
back was also locked, and there is no way
that I can see to unlock it manually. I got
batteries for the remotes that are supposed
to make life easier, but they proved to be
usless. I got this car so I would have
someplace to put groceries, or whatever,
when I needed to, but since the day I got it,
that huge, empty space in the back has been
a DEADZONE.!!!  Anybody know anything
about it, I would love to hear from you. Also,
I would like to put a trailer-hitch on my
Blazer, but I don't know if the bumper is
strong enough, or set up for that kind of
stress. There is a hole in the right place, band
I believe the right size, but there is a heavy
plastic , I guess non-slip, covering that part
of the bumper, so I don't know if that was
Chevy's way of saying "This hole is NOT for
a trailer-hitch" or what. I mean, if the bumper
is able to pull a trailer, it would be easy
enough to cut a hole in the heavy plastic
covering it. All help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanx for your time.
