Is this an automatic? High mileage? Assuming automatic, does the engine bog down when put in gear? Does it bog when left in neutral if you push the accelerator pedal? There's too many reasons why an engine can bog when pressing the gas (lack of fuel pressure, throttle position sensor, dirty/non-functioning injectors, plugs/wires/cap/rotor, MAF, A/F sensor, EGR, even a weak alternator can keep injectors from getting a good signal...) If it ONLY does this when put in gear, may have a bad clutch/torque converter lockup. Some suggestions: Put a code scanner on it and see if you have any set. If it indicates running lean, you have a fuel delivery problem. Then unhook the vacuum to your EGR valve, if it's sticking open it can cause engine to stumble or stall under a load.
