I Have a 99 Chevy blazer 4.3 it's been acting up when the motor is cold and I get in to drive it, it overheats then I pull over for a min it cools back down then doesn't over heat again runs fine

Ive replaced thermostat and radiator cap and flushed the system I'm baffled

sounds like a bad head gasket or cracked head that reseals itself due to expanding metal once warmed up pull the plugs and pressurize the coolant system and scope the cylinders looking for water /coolant in them
